Who’s New at PEF
Sasha Bainer
Fundraising and Campaign Manager
Sasha brings over a decade of leadership experience raising funds through capital campaigns and events for private Bay Area schools including Bentley School in Oakland and Mount Tamalpais School in Mill Valley. Sasha has served in many different roles including Director of Development, Director of K-8 Admissions and Alumni Relations, Director of Annual Fund, Advancement and Diversity. Sasha brings a strong events background and has particularly enjoyed her work with volunteers.
A multi-generation San Francisco native, Sasha attended Burkes School for girls (k-8) and San Francisco University High School, Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and earned a dual master’s degree in Social Work and Public Administration from Columbia University. She moved to Piedmont with husband Matt and two daughters Gigi and Izzy nearly three years ago after hearing so much about the schools. This fall Gigi looks forward to entering the Wildwood Kindergarten class and Izzy will be at Piedmont Play School.
Sasha will be the primary lead for PEF’s main fundraising programs: The Giving Campaign, the Spring Fling Auction Gala, and SCRIP working closely with committee chairs and volunteers to reach their annual fundraising goals.
Heather Meil
Marketing Communications Manager
Heather is no stranger to PEF and the Piedmont school and parent community. She has a long track record as an active school volunteer having served as President of the Havens Parent Club and participated on a number of Annual Giving Campaign and Spring Fling planning committees. Additionally, Heather has been a board member of several school support organizations, including PAINTS, the former Associated Parents Club of Piedmont (APCP), and the Piedmont Education Foundation itself.
Her professional career is equally as impressive, with a long career in heading multi-channel marketing for well-known brands including Martha Stewart Omnimedia, the J.Crew Corporation and the J. Paul Getty Museum. Most recently, Heather has focused her efforts on marketing consulting and company growth strategies with Dalton Hill Ventures. She and her husband, Jason, have two children in the Piedmont Schools and have lived in Piedmont for the past 10 years.
Heather will be responsible for building PEF’s annual campaign communications program, all of the brand messaging, material development and District wide marketing mediums. Heather will be the primary point person for site-directed communications as well as for our Fundraising Services for other school support organizations.
