Parents of Grads Rally for Senior Gift to the PEF Endowment
Class of 2017 Parents Sign Letters on Behalf of Senior Gift to PEF Endowment
Parents of the Class of 2017 gathered at the home of Liz and Bert Tuan to sign letters and rally fellow parents to honor their graduating seniors with a donation to the Piedmont Education Foundation Endowment. “The Senior Gift” is a time-honored tradition and a meaningful way to mark a graduate’s time in the Piedmont schools and their formative educational years.
The Endowment Fund, valued at over $6 million, provides a dependable, long-term source of funding for the Piedmont schools through its annual distribution, this year at $288,000. Managed by Osterweis Capital Management, and supported by generous families and the community, the Fund supports District priorities such as class size reduction, staffing and support for electives and AP courses at the high schools and middle school, and K-5 Math, Science and Computer resources.
“Given the upcoming budget challenges, the Endowment is vital to maintaining the current level of programming in the District,” states Heather Frank, Director of the Piedmont Education Foundation. “As the distribution increases, so does our ability to help fund the programs that are important to our students. A growing endowment makes a significant difference how we can support the District and our families.”
Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Questions regarding the PEF Endowment Fund may be directed to the PEF Office at 653-1816 or info@piedmontedfoundation.org.
