Firecracker Math offers group classes and private instruction on extra-curricular math topics to kids Grades K-11. We spark children’s interest in math, deepen their knowledge and further develop their aptitude and talent in math. Fall classes start the week of September 11th. Join us for an Open house, and new parents get 5% off tuition and meet our Program Director.  Open houses Tuesday, August 22nd 6 pm to 7 pm, and Saturday, September 9th, 1 pm to 2 pm.

Our curriculum focuses on exploration and understanding of mathematical concepts, and on teaching kids the skills 

of problem-solving and logical reasoning. We foster a creative learning environment by employing well-trained, enthusiastic teachers with advanced degrees in math or science. Small group size ensures close teacher-to students’ interaction and attention to each child’s needs and pace of learning.

We offer After-School Enrichment at our locations in Oakland/Piedmont, Berkeley, Lafayette, and San Francisco, as well as onsite after-school classes at public and private schools, custom learning pods, private lessons, and test & contest preparation. Fall 23 special classes: 

Math in Motion (Intro to Calculus): Calculus course for beginners that focuses on concept exploration and understanding of the main ideas behind calculus; Algebra Games: Introduction to Algebra learned through puzzles, games & magic tricks; Fundamentals of Algebra: Algebra course for 5-7 graders; Math for Families: kids attend with their parents; parents attend for free.
