Dress Best for Less Presents $25,000 to Piedmont Education Foundation
The Piedmont Education Foundation is pleased to announce another generous donation of $25,000 from Piedmont’s own local resale shop, Dress Best For Less (DBFL). The gift was presented to PEF at the May 16th Board of Director’s meeting.
The check, presented by outgoing DBFL liaison, Peggy Chan to PEF Executive Director, Heather Frank, is part of DBFL’s total contribution of $60,000 to Piedmont schools this year. “The dedication of Dress Best For Less to our schools and community is inspiring,” says Frank. “They understand that current state funding is limited and their donation makes a significant impact in our classrooms and to all Piedmont students.”
Formed in 1982 by a group of forward-thinking Piedmont parents who decided to support the schools by collecting unneeded household items and clothing to sell to the community, the group was given an unused room at Havens School and grew quickly to form a successful non-profit, Dress Best for Less, with a storefront on Piedmont Avenue, and a marking room on Magnolia Ave across from PHS. This past year, DBFL moved from Piedmont Avenue to their new store at 3411 Lakeshore Avenue.
DBFL offers affordable quality vintage and gently used clothing and decor. Residents can support DBFL by donating gently used items at the Marking Room at 799 Magnolia Ave and by shopping at the new store at 3411 Lakeshore Avenue
