Are you a fan of Latin music? Want to show off your dance moves at parties? Or maybe you’re just looking for a fun way to meet new people and stay active?

Piedmont Adult School is excited to offer Salsa for Beginners this spring! Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this class is designed for everyone. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from April 16 through May 7, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

In this high-energy class, you’ll learn the foundational rhythm, footwork, and partner techniques that will have you dancing with confidence. No previous experience or partner is required. Daily practice between classes is encouraged to help you refine your moves and get the most out of the experience.

About the Instructor: Carmela Zavaleta brings a wealth of experience to her teaching. She began her dance journey as a classically trained ballet dancer and later expanded her love for movement to include a variety of social dances such as swing, Lindy Hop, Argentine tango, and of course, Salsa. Carmela has taught Salsa at venues like the Metronome in San Francisco, as well as offering dance classes to children and teens through organizations like SFUSD, OUSD, and the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco. She has a passion for teaching beginners and sharing her joy of dancing.
