28th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

Please join us for the 28th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Alan Harvey Theater at 11 a.m. The event is free. All are welcome!

Hosted by the Piedmont Anti-Racism and Diversity Committee and the City of Piedmont, the theme of this year’s celebration is “Separate is Never Equal: Fight Injustice!”

It will feature keynote speaker Ericka Huggins, an educator, leading Black Panther Party member, former political prisoner, human rights advocate, and poet.

The program will also include performances by the Oakland Youth Chamber Chorus and Destiny Arts Junior Dance Company. Corrina Gould of the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust will offer a land acknowledgement.
